Hammer365: 228/136 Home for Cicadas

Img_0399

I wonder how many cicadas are housed here. At 120db they are the loudest insect and can cause deafness in humans if they sing just outside the ear, this is unlikely of course. Males are the ones doing the singing and they love 84 degree days. Here's what this tree sounded like at 8:00 tonight -----> http://tmic.fm/rkp2d703ez8

Hammer365: 100/265 Twelve Days Later

Spring is coming along just nicely. I took a shot of this Bradford Pear tree just twelve days ago when the buds were just beginning to pop out on the branches. Now the tree is fully loaded.

What a beautiful day. I don't know about you but I've got Spring fever something bad. I'm looking forward to more sunsets like this one.

Hammer365: 046/319 Artificial Sun Light

(download)

Tomorrow will mark the 100th day since we've had 70 degree temps in Kansas City. Even though it has been an extremely cold Winter I can see buds on the tips of the branches on this tree. How does it know? How does it know when to get up and get going? It's been just too darn cold and it is trying it's darndest to get Spring going. Each morning I look at this tree cheer it on. You go Big Tree!

Soon the sun will bring warmth and feed Big Tree.
