Hammer365: 192/173 Fifteen Week Challenge

Img_0355

The other night I came out of the VIP room dancing and getting my groove on. I noticed someone else in there with the same freaky moves I had. I mean exactly. I thought to myself, "Man, what a stud! Dude's got some wild moves!" There was an instand bond with this familiar character. As the smoke machine in the shower stopped and the fog began rising I started making out the figure that was dancing with me. At first I could only see feet but the fog continued to rise and when the mirror cleared up a complete stranger was revealed, and he was me.

What the heck was that gut doing on me? I realized I had to do something different.

So here's what I'm going to do...

Goal: Lose 20 pounds in 15 weeks. 1.33 pounds each week until October 24.

Plan:

  • 1 hour of physical activity each day, rain or shine (did I mention I hate exercising and working out?).
  • No second servings. Kerry and I agreed to putting all of the leftovers away after making diner but before we sit down to eat.
  • Limit sugars to less than 15 grams per serving.
  • Eat something for breakfast (I usually eat nothing).
  • Eat lunch everyday (I am very inconsistent).
  • Drink 6 glasses of water each day (I don't drink soda but I don't drink enough water either).
  • Break all of these rules at least one day per week.
  • Share my goal and plans with as many people as I can. Accountability.

I'll let you know how it goes.

Hammer365: 181/184 Chicken Annie's Chicken

Img_0343

Here's one that has been on my bucket list that I got to mark off today. Chicken Annie's and Chicken Mary's were featured on the Travel Chanel's Food Warriors claiming to have the best fried chicken in Kansas. They are about 200 yeards from each other and there are no other businesses for miles. It's really kinda weird. Tonight we stopped in at Chicken Annie's because they are the original. What an experience.

We stood out like tourists. As we stepped in all of the patrons sat there eating their chicken looking at us. No smiles, just stares. Paneled and brick walls with loads of chicken decor and the smell of fried food. The RedHead was not impressed with the chicken. The meat seemed just right but the skin seemed over done. So far, her homemade chicken is the best in Kansas in my opinion. We'll give Chicken Mary's a try the next time we come through.

Hammer365: 179/186 Dead Smoke Detector

Img_0341

If there's no little green light the battery is dead and you know what that means... Yeah, that annoying little inconsistent chirp that takes you an hour to nail down to a specific smoke detector.  It could be worse, it could start chirping at 1AM. It has.
